Private and group training classes are offered through out the year.

Star Puppy small group class is now open. This a 6 week class catered to your schedule.

Simply prepared education classes are now offered for families before they bring their new puppy or dog home.

Therapy Dog prep class is now open to individuals wanting to service their community with the gift of their companion.

Puppy Kindergarten is focused on AKC Star Puppy skills through Canine Good Citizen testing.

Simply Started Puppy Board and Train

House Training 

Crate train your Puppy for up to 8 hours at night.

Potty train in their crate for 2-6 hour at a time and signal that they need to go out.

Chew training to understand the word “no” and phrase “leave it” when chewing something they shouldn’t.

Bite training to know the word “no” when play biting too hard.

Training your dog not to jump up and to sit when told “off.”

Socialization Training 

Acclimated to being picked up and handled by various people in a safe environment. I can take them out and about with limited interaction to other animals outside of my home after rabies restrictions will be lifted

All pups will be introduced to children of all ages so they become familiar with different sized humans.

Please note than only after 3rd set of vaccines can they be taken out for limited interactions with unfamiliar dogs.

We introduce a hair dryer teaching them not to be afraid. Your Puppy is on a 3-4 week grooming schedule while in my care by a professional groomer.  This is included in training fee.

Obedience Training

The following are commands your Puppy learns. Sit, Stay/Wait, Down, Off on command both verbal and hand gestures. Recall/Come added to the training protocol if Puppy is with us for longer than six weeks.

You learn them as well prior to acquainting or reacquainting yourself with your Puppy. Your animal will comply to both verbal and hand gestures.

Leash Training

Walk on the left side with limited distraction sit when handler is stopped. Ideally your Puppy will not react to strangers and other dogs.

All AKC Star puppy skills will be developed and ultimately goal is to be able to take The Canine Good Citizen test when age appropriate.

The Simply Trained Puppy Family

Thank you for your interest in a Simply Trained®️ Puppy.  Over 25 years of experience sits behind my philosophy and approach. The biggest benefit from my program is that your Puppy is temperament tested to best match your family. We always raise him/her in a home so the transition to yours is both smooth and familiar. 

Experience has taught me that the biggest reason a family was unhappy with their companions were because their lifestyle and life stage did not match the personality and temperament of the dog.

I retain a deposit for consulting services or to reserve a training space or a Simply Trained puppy. I credit deposits towards training for training deposits and puppy purchase if purchasing a puppy. Deposits are $500.

Simply Starter training- 4-6 weeks and priced in addition to the price of your Puppy from a breeder I have worked with in the past. Prices start at $700 per week with a 4 week minimum.

Advanced Puppy training-12 weeks of training and goal will be to have the skills ready to take the Canine Good Citizen test with you once you have mastered your skills together. We wll determine brfore hand as to whether your Puppy is a candidate for this protocol.

Complete Puppy training- 6-8 months for a ESA/Therapy dog qualification. Taking the Therapy Dog International TDI', Project Pup and PetPartners test is required by the owner once the dog reached a year of age.  Your goes home only after your dog passes the Canine Good Citizen test. A proper ESA/Therapy pet is one who serves a specific duty immediately so their assigned person can depend upon them and build a trusting bond. This is collar or harness-based training, but off Leash training is available.

Finishing school- for a few weeks Simply Trained puppies can comeback and benefit for not yet learned behaviors. A perfect case for finishing schools is a Simply Trained puppy who goes home when it reaches 8-10 weeks, but their parents want them to learn the basics from a professional service.
